Life might be unpaused soon.

Little man has been in the NICU since his birth. We have basically put our life on hold until he comes home and it looks like that might be coming to an end soon. He has started taking all his feeds by bottle.

I just know that a mom of a full term baby could never appreciate the simple beauty of their child taking a bottle like I can. I heard a lot while at the NICU that taking a bottle for a baby is like running a marathon is for us. It takes a lot of stamina and skill, it seems like something you just do but it's not. I have spent many nights praying that he will just gain the strength to suck in all his feeds. Now that he does my heart sings when I feed him. He has started rooting around when it's feeding time and I can hear him smacking his lips and sucking on his hands. It seems I can't get the bottle in his mouth fast enough now when just a few days ago he was so confused as to what to do with the bottle when it was put in his mouth. He wraps his little hands around my hands and clings to them as he gulps down the bottle. I am so grateful. He is so beautiful.

Pumping is going well. I have so much milk that I needed to buy a deep freezer. So Jonathan and I picked up this yesterday. We filled it up this morning with all the milk that I had in my refrigerator freezer and while we did that we added up all the bags of milk to see how much stash I had and I am up to 420 oz of milk. This doesn't include the milk that is frozen at NICU. I think that there is about 100 oz there. I am so pleased!
